To respond to the company’s initiative of enhancing overall technical proficiency, inspire employees to deepen professional expertise and improve skills, and foster a positive working atmosphere of excellence, learning, progress, collaboration, and outperformance, Boxin Optoelectronics successfully held its 2025 Q2 Processing Skills Competition at the Prism Fine Grinding Department on June 26, 2025. The competition also provided solid support for internal technical title evaluation and year-end technical awards.
The competition focused on fine grinding of flat backing plates (manual grinding). Prior to the contest, the Technical Department prepared all necessary base blanks for participants to ensure smooth progress. Notably, the finished backing plates will be reused for prism production, closely integrating competition results with actual production and highlighting the practical value of the event.
A strict and comprehensive scoring standard was applied in this skills competition:Processing time evaluated efficiency, requiring high-quality work within a limited period.Key indicators including thickness variation, scratches, and W14 pinholes were strictly inspected to control precision and surface quality, with every minor defect examined by professional judges.Surface figure was measured by coordinate measuring machine (CMM) for flatness accuracy.Center thickness was also a critical criterion that must meet specified standards.
On the day of the competition, participants gathered at the Prism Fine Grinding Department with full energy and concentration. Using grinding tools, they carefully processed each backing plate in an intense yet enthusiastic atmosphere. The rhythmic rustle of grinding symbolized their relentless pursuit of speed and precision. Every contestant strived for perfection in all scoring dimensions, demonstrating solid professional skills and strong dedication.
After the competition, the Technical Department carefully compiled and verified the results. After intense competition, the top three winners were finally selected. With outstanding skills and stable performance, they won high recognition from the judging panel and earned well-deserved honors.
